The Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga series is becoming increasingly intense with its latest chapters. The creators behind the Naruto sequel have revealed that the character Kawaki will soon evolve further development and evolution.
In an interview, manga artist Masashi Kishimoto and illustrator Mikio Ikemoto discussed the rivalry between the two characters, Boruto and Kawaki.
“Kawaki will be the character who evolves,” said Masashi Kishimoto.
Both view Boruto as a more complete and authentic character from the beginning of the series. They also noted that Naruto and Sasuke Uchiha are indeed quite similar.
“They are not very intelligent; both have ambitious sides and have lost something important. So even though they are opposed, these characters are essentially the same,” Kishimoto explained.
However, Kishimoto continued, Boruto and Kawaki are fundamentally different. Boruto is a character who is unaware of how fortunate he is, despite having many advantages from the start.
“Kawaki is a character who has lost everything and does not recognize his own value. Naruto and Sasuke, as well as Boruto and Kawaki, are rivals within the story. However, I believe their relationships are quite different in Naruto and Boruto,” Kishimoto emphasized.
Ikemoto further elaborated on the differences between the two. He stated that Kawaki will be the one to truly develop through this rivalry.
“In the Naruto-Sasuke and Boruto-Kawaki relationships, each is a rival to the other to affirm their own value. However, their conflicts are very different,” Ikemoto added. “In Naruto, the protagonist is constantly in conflict, expressing and conveying his feelings to Sasuke. By doing so, he develops as a protagonist. On the other hand, in Boruto, it is Kawaki who is in the position of showing a strong attachment to the main character, Boruto,” he continued. “It will be more about Kawaki demonstrating evolution as a character,” he concluded.
Ikemoto, along with Kishimoto, confirmed that they will focus on developing Kawaki. According to them, what Kawaki carries is fundamentally different.
