The Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sergei Tolchenov, announced this plan during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.
“The decision to establish the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Denpasar, Bali, has been made by the Russian government,” said Tolchenov.
He explained that this decision was made due to the large number of Russian citizens visiting Bali.
The consulate’s opening is also aimed at providing consular assistance to Russian nationals facing issues.
“This initiative is part of our efforts to facilitate and assist Russian citizens here,” he added.
In addition, Tolchenov announced that there would be direct flights from Moscow to Bali by the end of this year.
“These direct flights between Russia and Indonesia will simplify travel and increase visits from Russia to Indonesia,” he stated.
