A shot was fired at Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump (78) during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
The shot, suspected to be an attempted assassination, struck Trump’s ear and cheek, causing significant bleeding.
According to The New Daily, early video footage from the event in Butler shows Trump holding his ear after the first shot was fired. Initially, many people mistook the shot for fireworks.
It is unknown whether anyone behind the U.S. presidential candidate was injured in the incident.
The large-scale campaign event was held on Saturday.
After being informed by his security team that the shooter had fallen, Trump reappeared moments later from behind the podium with bleeding wounds on his right ear and cheek.
Video footage shows Trump grimacing and raising his right hand to his ear as the shot rang out among the crowd.
